Every fourth Thursday in March is Tuskegee Airmen Day in the State of Colorado. The Senate had the honor of celebrating this momentous day with two local Tuskegee airmen and their families. If you didn’t know, Tuskegee Airmen were the first African-American Aviators to serve the U.S. Army Air Corps. They are highly trained, extraordinarily decorated, and extremely courageous. Their service to this country came at a time when this country did not value them as full citizens. I want to thank them for their sacrifices and thank them for coming out to the Capitol to celebrate with us. To learn more about their tribute in the Senate, watch the video below!
