SB17-142 – Breast Density Notification Required

Sponsors: Senator Williams, Representative Danielson

This bill would require facilities providing mammography to inform women if they have dense breast tissue. This is important because if a woman has dense breast tissue, she is more likely to have breast cancer. Right now, many facilities do not notify women about their breast density after a mammogram. This bill promotes women’s health by giving them the information to make the best decisions about their health. Governor Hickenlooper signed the bill into law on April 6.
